Injury and Broadcast Information: Looking Good

When the New Jersey Devils entertain the Maple Leafs in a few hours, you may find some changes on the ice.  Veteran John Madden is likely to return after a lacerated right ankle kept him out for two games, both losses for New Jersey.  The Devils also welcomed back defenseman Karel Rachunek versus Florida after he missed 10 games with an ankle injury.

Madden's linemate of many years Jay Pandolfo remains out with a pelvic injury that has sidelined him since Nov. 28.

Devils Pairings in Practice Yesterday (according to Tom Gulitti):

Forwards: Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner; Zubrus-Elias-Clarkson; Brylin-Madden-Gionta; Rupp-Pelley, Asham; Pandolfo-(empty)-Janssen.

Defense: White-Mottau; (emtpy)-Oduya; Vishnevski-Greene; Brookbank-Rachunek.

In all likelihood, the Devils will use 12 forwards and seven blueliners, though head coach Brent Sutter has insisted on four full lines and six defensemen when the team is completely healthy.  While Pando recovers, they prefer this unit (excluding Pando and Janssen, who is also recuperating from a separated shoulder) rather than bringing up players from within their organization.  Lowell Devils forwards Noah Clarke and Barry Talackson have been used sparingly this season except in emergencies.

If you are watching the game, you can catch it on FSNY as usual.  For those in the car, the game is on AM 1130, while the Giants-Packers playoff game is on WFAN 660AM.
