More Breaking News: Devils Will Have Rep. in All Star Game

The New Jersey Devils will have a representative in the upcoming All Star Game, Tom Gulitti reported on his blog.  Gulitti said that Devils GM Lou Lamoriello has not revealed who will head to Atlanta, but Zach Parise is the likely candidate.  He leads the team in goals, assists and points, plus minus, power play goals and power play assists entering tonight's critical matchup at Philadelphia.
Parise's Numbers:
16G, 26A, +9,  7 PPG, 10 PPA

He will not replace Sidney Crosby, the Eastern Conference leading vote getter.  Crosby recently endured a painful high ankle sprain and will likely be out for 7-8 weeks and the All Star Game of course.  The league announced today that Evgeni Malkin will take his spot for the east.

In other news, Devils goalie Martin Brodeur will not be at the All Star extravaganza either.  Although I would like to see him start his 4th career All Star Game and play in his 10th overall, Brodeur is not playing due to family issues.  It will be nice for him to rest anyway, considering he has started 42 of the team's 47 contests thus far.  At least a break from hockey, so he can focus on the emotional rollercoaster at home.  Well, I hope Brodeur resolves these familial issues during the break and returns to his Hall of Fame form for the second half of the season.
