The New Jersey Devils travel to Boston tonight to face the Bruins and backup goaltender Alex Auld for the first time this season.  Auld, 0-2 lifetime against the Devils, replaced Tim Thomas (strained groin) and Manny Fernandez (possibly out for the season) as the starting goaltender for the time being... Let's just say that he's off to a good start, 3-0 for the

"The Bruins (17-10-3) acquired Auld from Phoenix last Thursday after Tim Thomas injured his groin against the Devils one night earlier. Boston was already without goalie Manny Fernandez, who had knee surgery on Wednesday and could be sidelined for the rest of the season" (Devils Team Site).

Hopefully, the Devils can get back on the winning track (nine-game win streak) before losing their last two, to the Rangers and Capitals.

Martin Brodeur returns to net after backup Kevin Weekes started against the Capitals on Monday night... after being a healthy scratch the past four games, defenseman Johnny Oduya returns to the lineup as well.... Tom Gulitti does not have an update on the Asham-Sutter situation from yesterday...but, I expect the matter to be closed...and hope that Asham and the Devils can finish the three-game road trip with a 'W'.
