Devils Hire New PA Announcer- Kevin Clark

The New Jersey Devils hired Kevin Clark as their new public address announcer.  He will make his debut on Saturday night when the Devils host the Ottawa Senators in their inaugural Prudential Center opening game.

Clark was the PA for the Lakewood BlueClaws, class- A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, prior to taking the job for the Devils.

"To say I'm excited is an understatement. I have worked over 700 games in professional sports and, without a doubt, my most valuable experience has come in my 7 seasons in Lakewood," Clark said.

Now, before going on another rampage… I am excited that the Devils hired a new PA announcer… but I am curious as to know the reason behind this management decision.  Bob Gellerstein, now the ex-Devils PA announcer, was the man since the lockout.  He was also on ESPN radio in the mornings.

Was it a cost-cutting decision? Clark was the PA for a minor league baseball team.  Who found this guy anyway? All I can say is that the Devils are entering a new era of hockey, a $375 million state-of-the-art arena, and apparently a new public announcer is joining them as well.

I hope Clark can live up to the task.
