Martin Brodeur Step Aside... We are the New Class of Goaltenders

Pascal Leclaire- five shutouts this season while maintaining a 7-2-0 record for the Columbus Blue Jackets... their best start in team history... and his 1.12GAA and .957SV% lead the league in their respective categorical rankings... not too bad for a team consisting of no-names really (sorry guys)!

Martin Gerber- 9-1 record... earned starting role away from Ray Emery who was recovering from offseason surgery... I think the Sens made the right decision in sticking with Gerber (1.38GAA and .938SV%)- do you agree?

Henrik Lundqvist- aside from his 6-6-1 record, starting every game for the NY Rangers this year (due to the team's 32 goals, enough to place them last in the league)... he has only allowed 21 goals in 13 games while maintaing a 1.61GAA and three shutouts... he's dominant right now, maybe the best goaltender in the league... I mean nobody wants to mess with Leclaire right now, but Lundqvist is not far behind him

Tim Thomas- After a remarkable 4-1 start in which the Bruins netminder allowed six goals in five games, he has since relapsed (nine goals in the last four games and a 1-2-1 record)... well, his 1.65GAA and .949SV% are still tops in the league in leading the B's to a solid start this season Western Conference

Chris Osgood- 7-0-0... .936SV% and 1.43GAA- there's reason that he's undefeated right now and the Detroit Red Wings are in first place in the Western Conference... two words- Chris Osgood

Niklas Backstrom- 6-1-1 record... .927SV% and 1.86GAA... hmmm and comm. Gary Bettman wanted more scoring? Not when you play against Minnesota Wild's Backstrom... that's for sure.

Dan Ellis- who?? Nashville Predators 27-year-old undefeated phenom this season (4-0) and on his career (5-0)... two of the four wins this year were via shutouts... I think Ellis has earned himself more starts, maybe even the starting role That's all for now folks...

I think Martin Brodeur has been too kind on the league this year and needs to bounce back, which he will surely do (in due time of course)... now is a pretty... pretty good time when the Devils' next nine games are against division rivals
