New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur will start on Saturday night against the New York Islanders... Even more good news from Tom Guliti is that both Jamie Langenbrunner and Colin White practiced with the team today, bussed to Long Island, and will partake in tomorrow morning's skate... White still has blurriness in his eye from the puck injury and is indefinite on his return, while Langenbrunner is very realistic about rejoining the team "sooner than later."

Guliti added that the team spent much time working on their power play, as expected.  Head coach Brent Sutter seems to have his head on straight now, is really focused as the season is starting to progress and the Devils in need of work on their man advantage (0 for 17 in last four games)...as I previously mentioned in "A Lot on the Line..."

Even though the Devils were 0-6 PP last game, they were still victorious in one of the more important games for a team that was embarrassed on its home ice by the Penguins, something which is stuck in my head until the Devils develop some consistency on the ice, including their special teams, both for and defending power plays...

I forgot to mention that Sergei Brylin had some trouble speaking to reporters after the Devils last game, due to a crosscheck to the throat (Guliti reported).

Apparently, Devils fans were unpleased with the referees on Thursday...in Guliti's comment section of his blog...

"TG, that had to be one of the craziest calls in a while. I was furious in my seat. The officials in general had a poor game. Lots of strange calls and no calls and lots of bad calls from the linesman. During one play I would estimate a Devil was about 12 feet offside trying to get back out of the zone and the linesman missed it. Very poor."

Jon:
"Upshall deserves at least a 1 game suspension, That crosscheck could have been 100 times more serous but luckily for Brylin it wasn't.It was a very dirty play....TG Did Roy get a game suspension for the cheap shot on Clarkson in the last tampa jersey game?"

Since I was unable to watch the game in entirety, I would appreciate any comments, thoughts, feelings about the referees in Thursday's game against the Flyers...
