Stanley Cup Finals 2007-2008 Betting Lines

Here are the lines to win the the Stanley Cup Finals, according to THEGREEK, a popular sports betting site. Most of the lines look sharp, but I must say that the Sabres lost several key players to free agency and are not worthy of their 14-1. I would place them around where the Devils are, at +2045, which really means 20.45 to 1 on your bet. They lost both co-captains Daniel Briere and Chris Drury, and veteran Danius Zubrus. I think that they are going to struggle this season without these players. I really do not seem them winning their conference or finishing with 110 points this season. Their talent pool consists of young players who have yet to prove themselves beyond one or two seasons. Can Thomas Vanek repeat a 40-goal season without his former linemates? The Ducks won the Cup last season, so naturally they are favorites to repeat, around 7 to 1. Although Scott Neidermayer has not decided if he is going to retire, oddsmakers still like the Ducks. I watched them a little bit last season and they are a great team all around, including their goaltender Giguere. I think that the Rangers at 12 to 1 is a solid pick. They signed two proven free agents to boost their roster. Even though I may hate them, they are a top favorite to come out of the east. Ottawa is naturally around 9 to 1 since they earned their first finals appearance last season. I had to watch them bury the Devils in the playoffs last season. It was brutal, yet I knew that they deserved to be in the finals. Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatley are all all star caliber players who make them a dangerous team this year once again. Regarding the New Jersey Devils, 20 to 1 sounds like a fair spot for them. They lost two important players to free agency, but also made some transaction signings. Right now, the injury bug is hurting the team. Training camp is almost over, just another 10 days to the start of the season, only time will tell. My favorites from the list below are Pittsburgh (12-1) in the Eastern conference and Vancouver (16-1) in the West. I do not see a repeat by the Ducks and I really believe that Sidney Crosby is the superstar that the league needs. Unfortunately, he couldn't make it pass the first round last playoffs. My sleepers for each league: Eastern Conference - The only team that has any chance of winning the Cup as a sleeper... besides for New Jersey, is Atlanta (22-1). Not to show favoritism, but there are no surprise teams or obvious bets to play in the East. The Rangers, Senators, and Penguins are all decent favorites but not locks. Western Conference - Nashville (18-1) or Minnesota (15-1) look tempting. My sleeper pick would be the Wild because they have a great coach and just need their top scorer to stay healthy for a change. Marian Gaborik - I am talking to you asshole. Battle through those bumps and bruises, you pussy. 1001 Anaheim Mighty Ducks +725 1002 San Jose Sharks +1015 1003 Detroit Red Wings +815 1004 Nashville Predators +1845 1005 Vancouver Canucks +1615 1006 Dallas Stars +2050 1007 Calgary Flames +2050 1008 Buffalo Sabres +1415 1009 Ottawa Senators +885 1010 Pittsburgh Penguins +1215 1011 New Jersey Devils +2045 1012 Atlanta Thrashers +2250 1013 New York Rangers +1215 1014 Toronto Maple Leafs +3050 1015 Carolina Hurricanes +3050 1016 New York Islanders +4050 1017 Florida Panthers +4550 1018 Colorado Avalanche +1815 1019 Edmonton Oilers +5250 1020 Montreal Canadiens +2850 1021 Philadelphia Flyers +2550 1022 Chicago Blackhawks +10550 1023 Los Angeles Kings +8050 1024 Boston Bruins +8050
