EVERYONE CAN BREATHE NOW- WEEKES IS OKAY, FLYERS ARE NEXT
Thank goodness that Kevin Weekes will return to practice this week. I was really worried that he could be out a week or two from his injury in the Rangers game. The Star Ledger has more on his status. "Devils backup goaltender Kevin Weekes, who had to be helped off the ice Friday night after taking two knocks to the head in a goal-mouth crash, is expected to skate today. General manager Lou Lamoriello said yesterday a CT scan of Weekes' head proved normal. Weekes was injured in a 4-3 loss to the Rangers when a Sean Avery shove sent the Devils' Johnny Oduya crashing into him, causing a hit to his head and a subsequent smack on the goal post when he fell." He will not be in the lineup tonight, when the Devils take on the Philadelphia Flyers for a 7:00 preseason showdown. Unfortunately, the game will not be broadcasted on television. What can you do! I am hoping that Martin Brodeur will be in goal tonight. He missed the first three preseason contests. GM Lou Lamoriello has yet to reveal his starting lineup for tonight's game, even according to other Devils blogs. I will keep everyone posted on tonight's happenings. Let's go Devils.
