Power rankings, Devils Ahead of Pack...

The USA Today's most recent power rankings listed the New Jersey Devils as the second best team behind the unanimous first-place Detroit Red Wings.  You can attribute the team's success to a recent nine-game winning streak that was halted on Sunday.  Others placed the Devils a little bit lower after the quick losses.

Yahoo Sports: Devils 6th this week, 13 last week.
TSN: Devils No. 4
Sportsline: Devils No. 3

"But the biggest jump belonged to the New Jersey Devils, going from not one single top 10 vote two weeks ago to second overall," Mike Brehm of the USA Today said.

"A nine-game winning streak tends to draw attention, Brehm said.  "But the Devils' rise was as dramatic as their jump from last in the Atlantic Division to first."

The Devils have definitely made significant strides since the return of Jamie Langenbrunner and Colin White to the lineup.  Even though they just lost two in a row, I am not worried or concerned for that matter.

I know that Bill, Joel, and many Devils fans hate losing (you want them to like it?!), but losing is part of the game.

We are just frustrated by professionals not working hard, not necessarily by losing per se.

We are also letting out steam that Mike Mottau's goal was disallowed last night when the replays clearly indicated that he was not deliberately kicking the puck into the net.

Reserve goaltender Kevin Weekes played well in goal and we could not have asked for much more than that.
