Tempers Rise at Prudential Center... Calm Down Everyone...
Isn't being a blogger great? It allows me to publish what New Jersey Devils head coach Brent Sutter and forward Arron Asham "discussed" at practice on Wednesday. Well, I cannot actually report verbatim because Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record was unable to publish the profanity-laced argument between Asham and Sutter.
"The blowup happened near the end of the skate at the Prudential Center when, according to Asham, he failed to chip the puck in correctly during a drill. When Sutter criticized him, Asham jawed back, and Sutter let him have it, loudly, in no uncertain terms." (Star Ledger's Bridget Wentworth)
Perspective:
I sure hope that Asham realized that he has 3G, 3A and only 6 PTS in 29 games. In my opinion, Sutter can rip him a new asshole... tear our his heart... pull a Steven Segal/ Arnold Schwarzenegger... these guys are professionals but there are coaches, managers, assistant to the managers, trainers, and other motivators who are there to push them, guide them along the way...
It's time for Asham and the rest of the Devils to snap out of their two-game funk... even though they won nine straight before this three-game road trip, they are tied for first place with the NY Rangers, who lost in overtime to Washington after the Capitals defeated the Devils on Monday night... dag nabbit...
Fines, Suspensions, Lashes.... Nah... I expect Asham to apologize and get on with their business... as we all know, that is to go about their winning ways... maybe make a trade....continue to support the children of course...and stay on track for Lord Stanley's most prized possession.... the golden foot....
